Man Arrested After Summoning Deputies To His Home
A Leoma man who had summoned deputies to his home on Tuesday was, himself, arrested on assault and drug charges.
According to reports filed through the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department, Kyle McNeal Preston, age 40, requested that deputies be dispatched to his Rabbit Trail Road home shortly before 9:00 a.m.
Deputies report that McNeal and his wife had been engaged in a domestic altercation prior to their arrival. McNeal said that during the argument he and his wife fell onto a bed and she began hitting him on the head.
McNeal’s wife disputed his account, telling deputies that he had grabbed her by the arms, picked her up, and threw her onto the bed.
She said that he got on top of her and pressed his arm across her neck. She told deputies that she had slapped and kicked him. At that point, she said he placed a 911 call, reporting that she had assaulted him.
During the investigation deputies report finding spoons and syringes associated with drug use. Also found was a bottle cap containing a crushed pill.
McNeal was transported to the Lawrence County Detention Center where he was jailed under charges of domestic assault and possession of drug paraphernalia.
